How the Food Bank works
Collect
NUTRI porridge and posho from our factory, plus food from farmers, companies and donors.
Store
A safe, clean warehouse with stock records and pest control.
Screen
Community health workers check children and refer those most in need.
Share
Monthly packs delivered to families, schools, clinics, feeding centres and babies' homes.
Families are referred by clinics, schools and local councils and checked by community health workers. We protect dignity: no photos without consent and no public lists.
Work Plan
Months 1 to 3: Set-up
Board approval, partner agreements with schools, clinics and councils, safeguarding and data rules, warehouse, team and vehicle.
Months 4 to 6: Pilot
Register about 600 people in two communities, screen children and start monthly deliveries.
Months 7 to 12: Scale up
Add three communities and six institutions, start Eat Right sessions and publish the first impact report.
Year 2: Grow
Reach about 2,000 people a month, add mobile outreach, buy more from local farmers and keep an emergency reserve.
Year 3: Reach
Reach about 4,000 people a month, move the warehouse to the Kakiri headquarters and run an independent evaluation.

A gift of GBP 10 a month covers most of one person’s monthly cost.
